Kaas – 02.10.2010
135 km south of Pune and 25 km west of Satara, is situated a small plateau which, since last few years, have been drawing an attention of hundreds of botanists, avid photographers, nature lovers to experience an array of wild flowers . This is a place with serene atmosphere, nice breeze throughout the year and is aptly called as “Valley of flowers of Maharashtra” – The Kaas Plateau. Kaas lake is situated at about 5 km and Bamnoli village at 10-12 km further. Mid Aug to mid Oct is a preferred period with Sept as an ideal time to visit this beautiful place when flowering is in full bloom.
Apart from Kaas flowers (in Aug/Sept/Oct), one can visit other nearby places as well –
1) Bamnoli – about 12 km ahead of Kaas is a starting point for lanuch journey to reach base of famous Vasota trek
2) Ajinkyatara, Vardhangad, Sajjangad are other near by forts.
3) Tapola is about 40 km from Kaas. One can reach Mahabaleshwar from there
4) Thoseghar waterfall is an attraction monsoon.

Didn’t you find more birds other than the lark!? no lapwings!?
