Matheran – Monsoon Magic (June 2012)

AbhiShri | | Monday, July 2nd, 2012

Even after visiting “n” number of times, my love with Matheran is still the same. Though we all (Animish-Rima, Vishvesh, Shridhar, Santosh, Dhanashri-me) were looking out for an outing, this particular visit was essentially for Dhanashri-Sanskar :-).  Dhanashri needed some serious photography outing and for Sanskar, this was his maiden Matheran visit.

For me this must be visit number 21 or 22 or 23 ( I have stopped counting 🙂 ….but no matter how many times I visit, my romance with this place will remain as it is !! 🙂

I hope those who have never visited this place, will get some essence of Matheran’s beauty through these pics !

He was extremely excited to have a ride. He had one ride from Dasturi naka to hotel and it was a real test of patience for him (and for us :-)) before he could get his 2nd ride from hotel to Dasturi naka 🙂 🙂 ) !

Enroute Louisa point, you get to see this lovely view of Prabalgad and "Kalawantinicha sulka"

Such winding paths keep alluring you all the time....Typical Matheran trail !!

This is one of the most beautiful points of Matheran. Standing on the southern edge of the point, one can see Prabalgad fort in the west, Malang gad in the north, Echo point & Chharlotte lake in the east and Irshalgad on in the south. Beautiful weather condition like this adds to the beauty !

A simple leaf like this, sometimes, can make a nice frame. "Low light" in the woods and use of a "higher magnification" from a "close distance" makes "handheld" shooting a bit difficult !!

Some old structures/ entrances of home attracts me a lot !

Can you see beautifully camouflaged toad???

This was a friendly, patient specimen and posed for us at our will !! 🙂 (Lovely sighting by Animish :-))

Beautifully lit clouds can create an amazing mood in images like this !!
